VA Clinic – Bridgeport
The folks from the Bridgeport VA clinic attended our July meeting with a rather informative presentation.
Since the Fort Worth Clinic moved to 2201 SE Loop 820, it's now over 30 miles from us here at the post. The Bridgeport clinic is only a little over 26 miles away.

It is a small clinic and looks more like a private practice clinic and so it is a lot quicker and easier to get in and out of. There's not a big parking lot to walk across and there is a pharmacy next door that honors many of our prescriptions, ones that we need right away can be picked up right there, others can be mailed out if you prefer. It's basically the same system except for the private pharmacy which will hand over your medications quicker and easier and at the same price.

As soon as you are assigned, the Bridgeport clinic will get you started with lab work and follow up appointment with one of the doctors.
If you have never gone to the VA for anything but want to start, the same phone number and extension can still be used to get you started with registering with the VA Medical System.
Applying for VA health care benefits requires filling out an application (VA form 1010EZ). Applications for enrollment will be processed no later than 7 business days from receipt of a signed application.
Once your application for enrollment in VA health care is processed, VA’s Health Eligibility Center will send you a letter with information about your enrollment priority group assignment and instructions to contact the local VA health care facility for an appointment. You should receive the appropriate enrollment letter within 7 to 14 days.
Not only is the Bridgeport Clinic closer, the drive is more pleasant and you'll encounter a lot less traffic.
